"Hy-Fi," a “circular tower of organic and reflective bricks” designed by The Living (David Benjamin)

This awesome video of MoMA PS1 installation: Hi-Fi has been shared by The Creators Project. Designed by The Living, who have - in a fascinating move - recently been acquired by Software giant Autodesk, the tower's many organic, biodegradable bricks are grown from a mushroom root in only five days, with no energy required and no carbon emissions. In fact, the tower will be composted after MoMA PS1's summer program is over. Learn more about this ingenious tower from the creator David Benjamin in the video above.

Mushrooms might not replace steel and concrete soon, but Hy-Fi shows that they do have a place in today’s construction market. Ecovative is continuing to experiment with products for the built environment, and we at Arup look forward to working with them to push the material forward in the coming years.

Inflatable domes by Foster + Partners

I've always loved stories about spaceships and unsolved mysteries about the Galaxy, I'm fascinated by stars, planets and by Lunar Habitation, have a look at those Inflatable domes by Foster and Partners.

Foster + Partners is part of a consortium set up by the European Space Agency to explore the possibilities of 3D printing to construct lunar habitations. Addressing the challenges of transporting materials to the moon, the study is investigating the use of lunar soil, known as regolith, as building matter.
The practice has designed a lunar base to house four people, which can offer protection from meteorites, gamma radiation and high temperature fluctuations. The base is first unfolded from a tubular module that can be transported by space rocket.

An inflatable dome then extends from one end of this cylinder to provide a support structure for construction. Layers of regolith are then built up over the dome by a robot-operated 3D printer to create a protective shell. To ensure strength while keeping the amount of binding “ink” to a minimum, the shell is made up of a hollow closed cellular structure similar to foam. The practice designed the geometry of the structure in collaboration with consortium partners – it is groundbreaking in demonstrating the potential of 3D printing to create structures that are close to natural biological systems.

Simulated lunar soil has been used to create a 1.5 tonne mockup and 3D printing tests have been undertaken at a smaller scale in a vacuum chamber to echo lunar conditions. The planned site for the base is at the moon’s southern pole, where there is near perpetual sunlight on the horizon.

Taking pictures is always really cool, I have to admit that I prefer to be behind the Camera. Last Summer I bought this Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera in Yellow, really easy to use but quite expensive. Considering the Camera and initial photo paper was about 95 CHF, that's a hefty price tag for 20 photos.

Even if it's fun to use the Fujifilm Instax Mini, it's getting expensive. Therefore I decided to buy the LifePrint it's a Wireless Way to Print Photos on Demand.

Vitra Design Museum

Monday 20th of July 2015, this is a day full of surprises. I was lucky to be taken to Germany Weil am Rhein to visit the Vitra Museum. 

This Museum is one of those places where you would like to buy every single pieces of furniture to reorganize your home.  

I felt like Alice goes to Wonderland, my eyes were wide open to discover great Design and amazing Architecture. 

The museum's collection, focusing on furniture and interior design, is centered around the bequest of U.S. designers Charles and Ray Eames, as well as numerous works of designers such as Geaorge Nelson, Alvar Aalto who design a double up and down lamp that I really like, Verner Panton, Dieter Rams... It is one of the world's largest collections of modern furniture design, including pieces representative of all major periods and styles from the beginning of the nineteenth century onwards. Thanks to Roberto Canosa, who made this possible.

Sorry I was a way for quite a long time, I was traveling around Europe and working hard to find new subjects to talk about. Wasn't easy but here we go, hope you will enjoy the next subjects. 

Lets talk about Beauty products, I haven't been talking much about it, why? Because I enjoy talking about innovation, creativity, construction, but now it is time to talk about Mascara, cream and Hair products.
